Vineyard
Finca Montalvillo.
Between 430 and 700 metres above sea level
Variable
Vineyards planted on slopes. Vigorous and well-nourished.
Deep and rich in organic material with some gravel. There are abrupt changes in slope.
Average 10 years
Inland Mediterranean. The altitude and slope make for more rain and cooler nights in the summer.
Garnacha blanca 60%, Maturana blanca 40%.
* The percentage may vary for each harvest.
Winemaking
Night harvest. By hand and using machines.
Every variety is made into wine separately. Part of the Garnacha ferments in barrels for 8 months. After assembling the varieties, part of the mixture stays in concrete eggs before bottling. The assemblage of all the varieties is a representation of the estate and it expresses the virtues of the vineyard.
Tasting
Appearance: pale yellow with greenish reflections, clean and bright, medium intensity.
Nose: extremely expressive with herbal and floral notes common to the Maturana blanca, alongside soft, spicy touches of the Garnacha.
Mouthfeel: the combination of Garnacha and Maturana blanca creates a feeling of complexity and balance. It’s a wine with volume.
Combinations:
It’s perfect with grilled fish, seafood, fresh salads, pasta with light sauce, and Mediterranean dishes.
It’s also very appropriate for an apéritif.
